Acoustics are HORRIBLE, it was so loud my friend and I couldn’t hear each other. I’ll never go on a Friday/Saturday night again. Food and service were great though.

This is a great place for a group to meet and everyone there goes out of their way to offer service excellence ! It is a bit noisy for a business meeting however for groups or after work happy hour they can’t be beat !

Their bottomless brunch is AMAZING! About $40 A person for unlimited food and mimosas. A great deal and experience.

Second time in a row waitress has just simply not checked on us - waited for a long time to get order in for drinks, then waited a long time to get our first drink. Two of our dishes were served before we even had a drink. Then waited again for check. Too too loud -

Portions are small, but the food is good. Service was quite slow - overall a nice place and I will visit again.

District is very lively after hours. The music is heart pumping and energetic from all decades. They even play some of the blockbluster movies from past years. Now on to the food and drinks. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced. The food is eclectic but delicious. I suggest going during HH for the $1 oysters. They were sweet and creamy. All staff was nice and attentive.

I love the atmosphere at District. It is a young professionals crowd.

I have been to District several times for happy hour and just recently for brunch with girlfriends. I was so impressed, I decided to treat my husband and adult son for brunch. we made reservations and was seated promptly. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded, which I prefer, and figured that we might be able to stay past our allotted time of 90 min because their was a few empty tables around us. The front manager, I presume (some gentleman who refused to give me his name), rudely asked us to give up our seats for others waiting at the door to be seated (there was no one). I asked him was he going to ask everyone that had been seated BEFORE us and STILL remained seated? He brushed me off and past me. It might be a good while before I return to District for anything!

We stop into the District frequently as they have a terrific happy hour offering $1.00 oysters and othe substancial bar bites.

Wow! We came here on the right day, that's for sure. Made a reservation for a Wednesday at 8 and when we got here, the live band was playing some really great covers (jazzy Prince and David Bowie?! Yes!!!) People were dancing, enjoying their meals and enjoying the music. Our server was really attentive and did a great job taking care of us. This spot seems like a fun place to go with a large group, as well - there are large couch areas and tables with Lazy Susans and the menu offers many little plates, so sharing is definitely the name of the game. Overall, the food and drink options were great but the vibe of the restaurant is what really set the dining experience apart. Definitely going to come back again on another Wednesday night!

Our waitress was amazing! Attentive, worked the whole room like a boss!

Ambience was great and Tori, our server, was simply astounding in her care of and attention to me and my friend.

Had a lot of fun. Noisy, but it’s a cavernous place, so no surprise there. They had our table ready so we didn’t have to wait. The drinks were great. Nothing spectacular, but good honest cocktails. The shocker was the food; it was great! The short rib pizza rocked. In fact ALL of the 7 items we ordered were great, with one exception; the deviled eggs. They were just overlooked when boiled, so the whites were a little rubbery, but the flavor of the yolk was good. No big deal. It was nice to see well dressed people, together in a nice setting. No Birkenstocks in the entire crowd. Made me miss NYC a little.

Really wonderful service, good interesting food choices and drinks are great.

District was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Delicious inexpensive oysters, the best Sazeracs I've had in a California restaurant, beautifully presented beef tartare, and memorable frites. Mary's service was friendly and impeccable. Thanks for a great event!

I was suuuuper happy to finally be able to get brunch reservations. The food is always amazing!

Great! Fun, casual, easy access to BART. We had an attentive server with a lovely personality. Will definitely come back to District!

I expected more. Definitely a cool spot. Food was okay. Accompaniments for the plain arugula would be nice. But I guess I’m a bit of a brunch snob. I ordered a Bloody Mary (my fav) but they forgot to pour in the vodka. I would come again; however I’m not rushing back.

Great drinks and service. Food was a little "off" eg. Ahi poke extremely spicy, burrata and tomato salad watery.
by OpenTable Diner on July 27, 2018
Great food and wonderful service!

The host, Marquita, was awesome, super sweet, and extremely helpful! Even though everyone in my large party didn’t show, she accommodated us in an awesome spot! Food was amazing! Bottomless mimosas was the icing on the cake for a beautiful Sunday afternoon with my girls! Thank you again! We WILL be coming back!

This place is absolutely delicious. A bit on the pricey side but really well worth it. We will be back here.

Been there twice in the last week, cant wait to go back. 1st time was my own bday, it was a great experience with a party of 10. Later that week I returned for a biz meeting, that was just as good . Amazing food and great service.

Good, but a bit overpriced for Oakland
by AndrewAndWeller on July 17, 2018
Took over 25 minutes to get a beverage and the place wasn’t that busy.

Their staff is amazing!! Thank you for the most memorable birthday ever! KW

Being in an environment where I can hear the person across from me is a plus, plus for me. The service was great and the drinks were mixed right. John has been a great part of this experience, so thanks for to him!

I enjoyed happy hour menu!

Went there for the whisky selection. Very knowledgeable and personable staff. Highly recommend this place!

I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Very welcoming staff. Wasn’t too pack for Fathers Day either. I will definitely be back.

First time visitor. We were disappointed by the food. It is best to treat The District as a place for drinks and skip the sub par expensive plates. Typical of concrete wall bars, it’s loud. We would go back for the drinks.

All of the occasions are good for District! Me and my party had a great time the food was great mimosas Where consistently flowing. I recommend making a reservation to ensure that you have a table and don’t have to wait to be seated! Going back tonight!

Great happy hour oysters ($1) and tasty fries. Wouldn’t recommend pizza.

My wife and I dine at District about once a week. It is our go to place on the way to The Golden State Warriors games! We generally sit at the bar where the service is great, cocktails are finely crafted and they will even pour 1/2 shots if you ask. My favorite is the oysters, always well chilled and fresh accompanied with horseradish and vinegrette dipping sauce. My wife's fav is the pizza, alway hot and crunchy. The menu changes but the pork tenderloin is wonderful and don't miss out on the sliders. The table service can be slow-our choice is the bar.

Terrific drinks. The service was great. Playful and fun. Staff explained stuff; made me feel that there are no stupid questions. The food was amazing.
by isun on March 24, 2018
Food selection, small bites and pizza are standard. Good wine list to choose from. Ambiance could be quite nice , but the service by Torii was very lousy.

4 star food with 2 star service. Unremarkable place

We've been coming here for years, every 2-3 months usually before catching a show at the Fox. Food is always yummy, which is why we keep coming back, but the service has gone downhill. It took us 15 minutes just to be seated, since there was only one waitress who apparently was also the hostess, serving tables across the restaurant. I didn't leave a review when we came last month but twice in a row with the same issue... they need to do some hiring and staff appropriately. Last time we waited 15 minutes to ask for the check, which is not fun since you're trying to talk and have fun but when both you and your husband are trying to stare down the wait staff so they can bring you a drink, so you can order food, and 15 minutes just to get to ask for the check... I literally had to walk to the other side of the restaurant to hand them my credit card because we had to leave for the show. The food is awesome and the wait staff that are there know what they are doing and are good at their jobs, there just needs to be another person on staff during busy hours. The good news is the food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the food comes out quickly once the order is in.
by JoyD on March 7, 2018
Seating is different wish they had just normal tables instead of end tables.
by MimosaBottomless on March 4, 2018
Fun for brunch if bottomless mimosas are your thing...the food not so great, but it will do the trick to help with the alcohol.
by WilliamL on March 2, 2018
Great location in downtown Oakland. Very fun and vibrant feel. Good tapas menu.
by OpenTable Diner on March 1, 2018
Very good diverse food. Very good waitstaff! Affordable wine
by CP49 on February 26, 2018
It is a very nice space, good food and extensive wine menu. Service was not too attentive, and music was unnecessarily loud, especially as the evening progressed.
by AndQ on February 22, 2018
Despite our reservation, they didn’t have a table and had to wait 15 min. Food is good but not as good as the last time I visited. Also annoying that food comes out “as they get it ready. So in our table of four one person waited 15 minutes for their main course and the other 3 sat and got cold. Our appetizers and wine were good but they forgot one that we ordered (so did we!) and billed us for it. That was when we realized we never received it. Not a sorry or anything from our server. This is a good spot but it is pricey. Not sure it will remain on my list of local favorites.

We celebrated a friend birthday at District and it left such an impression on all of us! The server, Torii, was amazing and made my friend’s birthday one of the best she’s ever had! The food was also amazing, the oyster happy hour being our favorite! Would recommend this to anyone looking to celebrate an event or just chill with friends!
by ShiraS on February 6, 2018
Service was bad because they were short staffed. Servers were overwhelmed and rude.

Made a reservation, table wasn’t ready until 1 hr later, had to return 2 drinks to the bar as they tasted horrible
