Wonderful ambiance, and old time dining area. Very attentive staff. Food was excellent and cooked to order. Good wine list.

A bit pricey but always consistent with their food and service

I'm a creature of habit and always order the lamb chops (1/2 rack). Christy's is a splurge for us, however, because of the outstanding service and they serve the best lamb chops it's always been worth it. The last two times we have gone I have been disappointed in the amount served. I'm not sure what has changed but I left not feeling satisfied and a little hungry.

We love to take our son to Christys when we come to Miami and love the warm yet upscale vibe. Our waiter put in an order for a Prime rib but I had ordered a Prime Rib Eye so I had to send it back and wait for 20 min. All the others were done eating by the time my steak arrived. Usually a great place but this time disappointed

We have always loved Christy’s and still do....however, it has changed. The salad which was always a high point now costs $10. The baked potato which used to come with the steak is now $8. It was always fairly expensive but these were nice touches that set it apart from other steak houses. Today, all the steak houses in the Gables are fine.

It had been 22 years since I was at Christy's and it was as wonderful as I remembered.

Enjoyed dinner and comped martini

Been coming to Christy’s since I was a little kid. My grandfather was a regular so it was a weekly dining experience for me growing up. Now it’s for special occasions, the food is amazing but the memories for me as the best.

Wanted to take friends from ASan Diego to a nice dinner. The meal was great and service was wonderful. This is a great place for special experiences,

short pour martini , it seems their habit Tomahawk is shy of meat

I had visited Christy's for over 20 years. Last time was around 2013. On my last visit the prices were much lower and they would include a cesar's salad with your entrée. This time the steaks were very expensive and there was no cesar's salad included, instead we had to pay for one and it was small. On a Saturday night this restaurant would have a line outside. This Saturday there was no line and empty tables inside. It seems that a lot of people are thinking like me. My advise is: Never change a winning combination.

Food acceptable service mediocre..................,,.....,,,,,,

We ordered the chefs recommendation. When we received it it was well done, instead of medium. We were offered two lobster tails, as a compensation. They never came. When we received the food again, it was rare, not medium. The manager told us that they prepared it rare so that it wouldn’t overcook again (wtf?). The food was ok. Not great. The bill was really high for the quality of the food that we received, and the compensation for their mistake never came.

We always like Christy's for the atmosphere, service and quality of food. I had brought a Valentine's card for my wife a day ahead and asked them to present it to her when we sat for our Valentine's meal, and that was done cheerfully and flawlessly. One minor quibble, which we mentioned to the manager - the coffee and refills were not hot at all. Another regret is that for more than a year now management has no longer provided the famous Caesar salad as part of the meal even though there was no reduction in the price of entrees. And, on a personal level, we miss the chef "Q," but the quality of the meals remains high.

A special evening for Mother-Daughter time and Christys has always been a good restaurant, while very very expensive I always found it worth the money and time to enjoy a good meal in a great setting. Wedge salad could be a meal in itself, perfect and enjoyable. Great steaks although my Filet was a bit salty. Best Brussel Sprouts ever although disappointing Truffle Mac n Cheese, bland and tasteless. Shared a Key Line Pie with Taylor Fladgate after a most beautiful La Crema Pinot Noir. Service? For the money needs improvement, after opening the wine and the customary first pour, server only came back once to refill wine. We ourselves poured the wine the rest of our meal. Our server never mentioned the specials, he spent more time hovering over other tables where a male was present. Not worth saying anything as this was about quality time with my Daughter, I made my point by deducting the wine cost from final bill and provided our server a 15% gratuity just on food instead of my usual 20% overall. Still Christys is a Coral Gables staple worth the visit, Enjoy!

We’ve been going to Christy’s for 20 years but it has changed. The food was super expensive and not worth the price—the filet was too tough to cut! The waiter had such a heavy accent that we had no idea what the specials were and we had to remind him to bring a side dish we ordered. We will NEVER go back.

Nice place, the food was nice, I had the crab cake appetizer which was sort of a brick but still crab meeting. Then I had to short rib which was cooked to perfection. Very tasty not very fatty. Had a few issues with our waiter who forgot to bring over a few things but it was a Tuesday night so I can’t blame them too much. And we did get out of there around 10:30 PM. All in all solid place wine prices weren’tOverly expensive but they were restaurant price.

We like christys
by DaManztur on January 20, 2018
We were really disappointed. We used to frequent Christy's years ago and decided to go back after not going for some time. The caesar salad, which used to be included in the price of every steak (and is excellent), is now a separate item--prices have increased across the board. But the really disappointing thing was the steak itself. The quality was just not there. Texture-wise it was average at best, and very bland in flavor. Mine was somewhat overcooked as well. For a $50 a la carte steak, completely not worth it. The sides, wine selection, service and ambiance were all what I would expect, but the steak was not. Sad to say, as this was my favorite restaurant throughout the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, but my wife and I will not be going back.

Christie’s continues to be a classic choice for dining in the Gables. Perfect for special occasions /celebrations or just date night with your spouse or significant other. The menu is classic and the portions are healthy —- as it should be when you’re splurging $$$$. The service was as expected for this place — excellent ...and compliments to the bartender for the best the dirty martini! The wine list offered a good selection and varied pricing depending on what one wants to pay. We loved the tuna tartar - perfect for 2 to share. The quality of chateaubriand cut was impecable and it was cooked to perfection, nicely presented and prepared at table side by our waiter. Don’t forget their classic Baked Alaskan for dessert. We will be back ....
by OpenTable Diner on January 11, 2018
For starters the place looks great. Its low lit ambience was perfect for a date night and the volume of the other patrons was low enough so you can hear each other but didn’t feel like a library. Our server was very knowledgeable and suggested a great meal. The bar makes a good old fashioned too. A little pricey, but that’s the way it goes.

Had a bad experience! Steaks were cold, service was terrible... Very very disappointing. I had recalled this having been a great restaurant at one time years ago. I tried to find a website to express my disappointment to Christys but found only a phone number. Please communicate my message to them. Thank you, R. Gracia, M.D.

We frequent this restaurant often and the food never disappoints The ambiance is lovely and is well maintained. There are some waiters that are better than others. The last 2 times we went we had the same waiter and he was average. He forgot our appetizer and was not what we expect there. That being said, the food and ambiance never disappoint!

The food was amazing and the lychee martini was fantastic. I’ll be back.

Excellent as always, have been coming here for about 30 years.

Food was great however our server was not. He was very negative and did not help with the ambiance of the restaurant. We have been to this restaurant before and will definitely return.

I hate to write a bad review and I understand it was a holiday, but the service was very lacking. I made reservations and was there early, but we couldn't be seated and had to sit at the bar, while others without a reservation were seated before us. Also, by the time we were seated we were starving and wanted to order, but it took another 30min for appetizers. It was a full hour before dinner arrived, and the plates were hot but the food had been sitting. I asked the waiter twice for tea, finally a visit brought it. The food is always excellent but either being overwhelmed or lack of concern in general made the service for me sub par. I don't know if we will be back and definitely not on a holiday.

We went on Christmas Day for dinner. They got our order wrong but they made up for it and did not charge us for the wrong plate. That was extremely nice of them !!! Their food is usually very good and their service is also great. I recommend you try it if you have not been there.
by OpenTable Diner on December 24, 2017
I you want divine dining and attentive service, head to Christy's! Its an impressive and celebratory environment perfect for special occasions, business clients, and will satisfy your craving for the best steak and sides in town!
by JorgeH on December 23, 2017
It’s not the same restaurant as before. Waiter was very pushy.
by ArturoRamirezZermeno on December 23, 2017
"We waited for our table for about 15 minutes, no explanation. Once our table was ready, it took a few more minutes to finally get somebody to help us. My steak was overcoocked, I did not return it because since we arrived a few minutes earlier + the long waiting + more waiting to be helped + plus the time it took our food to arrive... Prices are really fat, in my personal case it did not match what they offer. I will not visit this place again.

After all these years, Christy's still has it ALL going on. Food, service, vibe - all first-class. Highly recommend for fine dining and excellence in all areas!
by OpenTable Diner on December 22, 2017
The service was wonderful. I️ would add a bit more flavor to the sirloin burger. I️t was missing some sort of sauce to give it that additional moisture that I️ believe it needed.
by OpenTable Diner on December 22, 2017
Ordered filet on the bone special of the day. It was overcooked & seasoned with too much salt & pepper. On top of that it Was pricey $ 68.00 for the filet. I should have ordered the 8 ounce like my wife did which was perfectly cooked & $ 38.00. It was a a disappointment, good bottle of wine With a bad steak.
by RackEm18 on December 22, 2017
Overall OK. We were staying in South Beach and decided to give it a try before the Heat game. The ambiance definitely fits our preferred "old school" steakhouse preference. We sat unattended for about 10 minutes, but no big deal for us in that we were not in a hurry. The surf and turf special was wonderful! Steak cooked to perfection. An old, over served couple were sat near us about half-way through our meal. This killed our experience completely.

I had a disappointment that i am sharing privately with the restaurant.
by Spgesq on December 19, 2017
Christy's is a gem! It is elegant, the food is superb and I always enjoy dinner there, whether with friends or clients. It suffers from not being the latest "Hot Spot," but is better than all of those put together! Our waiter, who may have been new and came from Joe's Stone Crabs, where they can be rude to patrons, lacked the usual courteous service you get at Christy's. Hopefully, he will learn to be friendlier, more accommodating, or be gone. Don't let that keep you away.

We are long admirers of the place as a land/mark in Coral gables. Probably the best steak in the area. YOU NEED IMPROVE IN THE SRVICE.....Not was it used to be
