Perfect pre-show meal for any of the nearby theaters. Fantastic service. The food is creative and perfectly prepared. Unlike many restaurants in the district, you’re not cramped in a room with people sitting on top of one another. Highly recommend!

10 of us had brunch on a Sunday. Everything was perfect. Some of us had the brunch while others ordered off the menu. Everyone raves about the food. Service was excellent

I used to go to Braddocks when I was downtown for a concert or the theater. Their prices were reasonable, the building is beautiful, the service was good. I was generally ordered mussels, one of their signature dishes. I was surprised to return recently to find their prices had risen dramatically and mussels were off the menu. The service continues to be excellent and it is reasonably quiet which is a plus for me but I will not be back for food that is just OK at high prices.

Our primary impression of Braddock's Rebellion was the noise level (very loud). We spent $70 (plus tip) for two entrees and one cocktail. The food was just okay, although the table service was very fast. Between the retro, mid-century decor and the hipster, alcohol-themed menu, it seemed like the kind of restaurant to which young people bring their parents or grandparents so the older generation can pay the bill.

Excellent waitress and food. A little noisy but festive.
by Luv2eatlocal on November 28, 2018
Food was ok but nothing special for the price. Bread served was cold and dry. Too many other good options in town.
by Mshpittsburgh on November 25, 2018
Food was excellent. Service non attentive. Could have spent more money here i.e. Desserts and after dinner drinks but there was only one waiter and he had several tables to care for.
by BethH on November 25, 2018
We went before a show and it seemed as though there was only one waiter. He was very busy with about 12 tables. There were other staff helping, but the kitchen couldn’t keep up. It took an hour to get our food. This was my second time there and the first experience was positive. I will possibly try this restaurant again because of limited restaurants being open on Sundays. But I will definitely give myself at least 2 hours before a show.

We were there on weekend...concert in town and wedding upstairs. Our wait staff was extremely over taxed...luckily we got there before the crowd. The server from kitchen must have been new..as twice she tried to deliver food to wrong table. But both tables on either side of us came later and waited for everything....from ordering ,to water on table, complimentary bread plate and drinks. Food was good...but having to wait for everything was stressful. We walked to bar afterwards....and they had three people working there...which seemed crazy compared to dining room.

The food and service were not as good as we have previously experienced at Braddocks.
by ErinZ on November 22, 2018
The food, as always, was delicious, but they keep cheapening the experience and offerings. Unlikely to go back for Thanksgiving next year since they removed a lot of the items offered in previous years. I don't go out for dinner to have cupcakes offered as dessert.
by Energydoc on November 22, 2018
We had a very fine traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, with a whole uncut turkey being brought to our table. The turkey was moist and tasty.
by Eatout on November 22, 2018
Pleasantly surprised by a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Not your typical buffet. We had reservations and were seated quickly in a comfortable booth. Service was prompt. Especially enjoyed the chef carving the turkey tableside. It was a pleasant environment, nicely decorated with several families in attendance. If we were in Pittsburgh for the Thanksgiving holiday we would choose Braddock's Brasserie again.

This was our first visit and we loved it - every single thing. We had bruschetta as an appetizer, then a wedge salad and lobster ravioli.....all very fresh and tasted very homemade. Great service, quiet atmosphere. We were going to Heinz Hall after. This is a perfect stop before Heinz Hall. It is only about a 2 minute walk.

We came here during Light-Up Night - great dinner. My wife had the Pasta al Fredo - sauce was fantastic. I had the hangar steak - done just right. Came back for brunch on Saturday morning - again excellent. lots of choices and the omelets were made-to-order. Service both times was great - always there when you needed it but not at all intrusive. Highly recommend.

The beet and goat cheese salad was excellent!! The short rib raviolis were good but there could have been less raviolis but more filling. Will was a very good waiter.
by DebbieM on November 8, 2018
Large portions, food was fresh and had common menu items mixed with unique. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Modern decor mixed with traditional was pleasant atmosphere. Clean!

Went here for dinner before the recent Steelers game. I didn’t realize it was a hotel restaurant when I booked, but it managed to avoid the pitfalls of hotel restaurants. Food was great, portion sizes reasonable, service was quick and understanding of our timeline. I look forward to eating here again!

Excellet food and service. Pricey - with tip, $148 for dinner for two.
by DonnaW on November 7, 2018
The food was wonderful. There were enough selections to satisfy everyone's food tastes. The servers were very attentive. We especially enjoyed the slow pace of dining. The waiter's were not intrusive and allowed plenty of time to make selections. I would recommend Braddock's to anyone who is looking for outstanding food and service.

Everything was cooked well and the waiter and waitress was excellent. I really like the taste of your coffee and bottle water!
by OpenTable Diner on November 5, 2018
We came to this restaurant because we were attending a show at a theater nearby. We were very pleased with our selections. My husband had to short rib ravioli and I had the pumpkin papperdelle pasta. We also each had a cocktail. My husband had the Charlie Brown, and I had the princess peach. Both were tasty although my husband felt that the whiskey was too overpowering in his drink. Hubby also had for dessert the 21st amendment cobbler which was very very tasty. All in all we will definitely be back.
by hmacg on October 29, 2018
They have new, higher prices, and yet the menu has changed (boooo!) for the worse. This used to be a pre-theater fave. But now... (sigh) we will be looking elsewhere.
by MajerFoodie on October 27, 2018
The food was very good from the quesadilla to the salmon to the filets. All five of us enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. There was a club or party upstairs at the hotel and it was extremely loud and distracting. I’m not sure how often that happens.
by KristinaD on October 27, 2018
We stayed in town for a Steelers Game. We live 5 hours away. We decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant as we were travel weary. We were made to feel like old friends by the manager, waitress and staff. The bourbon selection was impressive and the food was amazing. Hubs had the pork shank and I had hangar steak the first night, and it was so good we went back the next night for more. We went with the pretzels and fondue for an appetizer, then for dinner I had the veal chop, he had the scallops. Again, perfection. We will come back to Pittsburgh just to visit Braddocks.
by SLOAN on October 26, 2018
According to the server, the chef decided to take two of my favorite items off the menu, and yet it is still showing the old menu online! The wonderful crab cakes are no more and mussels and frites are also gone! My dinner and my friends dinner was mediocre at best. The bread was cold and tasteless, and the salmon was boring. Very disappointed. Will not return! BTW... it was expensive!
by OpenTable Diner on October 25, 2018
We ate here prior to attending a Pittsburgh Public Theater performance and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. 2 of us had the scallops with saffron risotto and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The other person had the grouper with roasted veggies and a potato cake and it was also excellent. Each of us had a cocktail that was excellent and creative. Our waitress Autumn gave us very good service. It was a delightful meal in a lovely atmosphere.
by JohnL on October 20, 2018
Reservations for 7 pm on a theatre night (not attending) caused some delay in being seated on time. 15 minute delay. Visited by manager to explain. Good service after that. Da restaurant emptied by 8 pm. Auiet and atemtivrxafter that. My bad. Choose times carefully and check other event schedule before choosing time, if flexible.
by MichaelB on October 20, 2018
The restaurant was very crowded before several shows in town. Service from the kitchen was very slow for chicken and steak dinners. Picking the right menu items requiring the shortest cooking times was beneficial.
by richd on October 20, 2018
The restaurant was not well staffed. service was slow and the food was terrible.
by leeS on October 20, 2018
Service slower than in the past. Wasn't crazy about the current menu,
by TERESAC on October 20, 2018
The food is always impressive and never disappoints. Would like to commend our particular waitress on her level of service. On a particularly busy evening, she remained attentive and most of all pleasant and accommodating. Please recognize and commend her in some fashion!
by ASHLEYC on October 20, 2018
Very disappointed in our service. It took the waiter forever to even take our drink order, so by the time he came we ordered our meals as well. 15 minutes went by and we never saw our drinks. We asked him for them and he never returned so we had to ask another waiter and he ultimately brought us our drinks. Same issue happened when trying to get a box for leftovers . Cesar salads were highly disappointing as well. I expected better quality for the price we paid. Way too overpriced.
by HeathL on October 20, 2018
Everything was good until it got busy. We got there early and recieved our drinks and bread quickly. Our meal came shortly after and was awesome. Then the restaurant got busy and everything stoped. The table next to us never got waited on and the table next to that took over an hour to get their drinks. It took us a long time after our meal for the waiter to show up. Then it took an extra 55 minutes to get our dessert. And when we got it the ice cream was melted. If it wasn't for the best tasting steaks I ever had I would give only 1 star.

As usual, Autumn our server made our visit most enjoyable and pleasant. She took time to answer my tedious questions about the specials. I wanted to make sure that I had heard "beet" and not "beef" for the pasta special. I am so pleased that I chose that especially once we had learned that the menu had changed and the one that I found online did not match up. I was actually hoping to have the duck that night, but settled for the surprisingly scrumptious beet linguine. I am also glad that I brought with me my "readers" as the font on the menu is so tiny, we noticed seniors at other tables using their blinding LED lights in order to read them. I really miss having the bread with spreadable sea salted butter too. Who wants bread that you dip into something that is going to drip on your clothing? My partner and I would usually split the cheese board, but, alas, that too is gone off the menu. We actually overheard a table bemoaning the fact that their beloved sandwiches and burgers were gone too. What has become of the beloved and cherished menu that brought us back to Braddock's? The beer cheese soup was beyond excellent!!! I was so wanting to lick my bowl clean!!! Another blow was finding out our members card from the Cultural Trust was no longer accepted. We love the atmosphere, we love Autumn, we love the bar, we just don't know how often we can afford to come back with the menu being stripped of some of our favorite meals. My partner and I will have to discuss how we frequent Braddock's in the future. Maybe for certain select shows we have subscribed to.

Food was disappointing... Brushette was on cold stale untoasted bread. Cheese soup was tasty. Fried zucchini was drowning in sauce...would have been presented on a plate with smaller container of sauce... Meat and cheese plate was skimpy for the price...drinks as always were good...
by punkbar on October 19, 2018
very good atmosphere but poor quality food for the price. For the prices, we expected the food to be much better than it was. Service was great also, but please find a new chef.
by DavidN on October 18, 2018
Fabulous service. The fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. The salmon was also superb.
by PLR15 on October 17, 2018
Great place for dinner prior to attending a Cultural District event. Food is always good. The service is always excellent!
by DianeA on October 13, 2018
This was our downtown go-to dinner place for several years on evenings that we attended shows and concerts, probably 9 or 10 times per season. At our first visit since June, we were disappointed by the changes that have been made by the Marriott chain that bought the Renaissance Hotel. Menu has gotten pretty pricey ($26 for a handful of pasta and four medium shrimp) while portions have gotten smaller and the food is not well prepared. (My fettuccine was vinegary--so bizarre.) Staff seemed really rushed even though there were a number of empty tables, so the relaxed and friendly atmosphere we were used to is also gone.
by JocelynS on October 13, 2018
We enjoy Braddock's menu and we especially appreciate their excellent service -- it is friendly and yet always correct. They are extremely good at adapting to the particular occasion -- birthday, anniversary, out-of-town relatives, etc.
by PaBiker on October 12, 2018
This the second time that we visited Braddocks. Both times we have had excellent meals, great service, and great selection of entrees to choose from. Like many restaurants today, Braddocks can be a little on the loud side depending on where you are seated. I would eat here again when we are back in Pittsburgh.
by OpenTable Diner on October 8, 2018
Mike the bartender was amazing. His service and cocktails were second to none! The food was excellent.. One of the best steaks I have ever had and it was cooked to perfection.
by LindaP on October 6, 2018
Very good food, service a little slow but not too bad. Attentive service otherwise.
by AdamJ on October 6, 2018
The food was amazing. Drinks were fabulous. Ambience was nice. Great for dates or nice outing. Excellent service and plates.
by JessicaG on October 4, 2018
Not sure why they changed their menu. The ramen bowls don't fit with the rest of the sandwich style menu. Got steak over beet salad and it was mediocre. Side of fries were underseasoned and mushy. Disappointed because I absolutely loved the first time I went there - the second visit was underwhelming. Will maybe give it one more try before giving up on them.
by Pittsburghgirl on October 3, 2018
We went to Braddock's pre-theater. It was very busy and the young waiter "was doing the best that he could". He took cocktail orders and we sat and waited. (We are two females--one older and one young adult). The manager noticed us and came to expedite our order. We were given the cocktails complementary. The food (and the cocktails) were good. I was most impressed with the sensitivity and awareness to women. We will definitely return and patronize Braddock again.
by SherriT on October 3, 2018
Overall our experience here was very good. Only downsides: I felt the wine by the glass was overpriced and definitely not “a generous pour”, and we were seated at a two-person table at which my direct view was the Out kitchen door. Wish I would have requested a change in seating because it is a lovely restaurant elsewhere.
by HelenL on October 3, 2018
We enjoyed good service, good food, and good conversation in a lovely, comfortable setting.
by DavidJ on October 2, 2018
