Was excellent choice for Sunday Brunch pre theatre. Outstanding buffet selection, reasonable prices, and will definitely return next time we have afternoon theatre tickets or evening theatre tickets. The service was excellent, respectful of our leisure brunch and very accommodating.

Great service nice ambiance. Great location for pre-show dining.
by Jeff on February 17, 2018
Quality of the food was good but the quantity seemed meager for the price.

We have eaten here several times, and always been delighted. My vegetarian daughter enjoyed the cheese plate and seasonal squash noodles. I had the lobster gnocchi- very good- happy that they had a small portion as i would not have been able to finish it ( we were going to the ballet - no 'doggie bags'!). Had to take the elevator up to third floor for the restroom- hope they get a close one soon.

Great meal and service. Can't wait to get back. All 4 of us loved our meals and look forward to our next visit. Perfect location if going to anything in the Cultural District or North Shore.

Michael, our server was wonderful! The food was amazing as usual! Jerome and the entire valet staff are simply the nicest and most competent of any Pittsburgh hotel! We will be back this weekend even though we live 1 1/2 hrs away.
by OpenTable Diner on February 10, 2018
The waiter was very friendly and attentive, our food was prepared very well and it arrived at the table in a decent amount of time.

Went to Braddock's to celebrate mutual birthdays with a friend. We had reservations and it was initially crowded. We did have to wait quite a while for our food, while other tables nearby got their food and appetizers and were done eating before we had our dinners. The food was worth the wait. I had the short ribs and they were very tender and flavorful. I would go back just to get them again. Our waiter was not well trained, we felt. He mispronounced basic terms and never came back to refill our water, even once the place was emptying out and we were waiting for our food. Maybe additional staff education would be helpful.

Always great food here, but we waited a LONG time to waited on, for drinks apps and main course to arrive. We’d notified them we were headed to an 8pm show - arrived at 6:15 and were scrambling to leave at 7:45.
by Cruella on February 10, 2018
Have eaten here many times either before a play at the Benedum, Heinz Hall or CAPA and love the food and service.
by MatthewN on February 08, 2018
Braddock's consistently delivers great food. Understated as it is part of the Hotel but every time my wife and I have gone (mostly for breakfast on weekends) we are happy. Went to dinner Thursday, February 8, 2018 before Game of Thrones show and Halibut special was perfectly done. Really good stuff. Will be coming back for sure.
by MaryV on February 04, 2018
A very special dining experience that added to a special day at the theater. Made reservations online while sitting waiting for the play to begin. Will definetly return.
by Lyndy on February 04, 2018
we were there for a pre-theater meal. It was Sunday and there was a brunch option with made-to-order omelets and waffles. My daughter-n-law opted to order off the menu and was glad she took the waiter's suggestion for a salad and half a Reuben. The children ranging in age from 15-9 loved the ambiance. We had a good food and were well taken care of!
by Nancy on February 03, 2018
We arrived at 6:15, waited 20 minutes for menus & a server, then waited another 15 minutes or more to get drinks. The wait staff was told we had an 8:00 curtain to get to but we didn’t receive our food until 7:30 pm. Although they apologized & took 3 drinks off the bill, it was an uncomfortable experience.

I want to explain why I didn’t give Braddock’s 5 stars. The food was good. Service was attentive but it was absolutely freezing in this restaurant. We asked to be moved when we first sat down, which they did but it didn’t help. The front doors to the hotel open up across from the door to Braddock’s, letting in the cold air. We noticed several other people asking to be moved as well. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and hoped to have a nice dinner. The temperature was so uncomfortable that it really took away from the whole experience. I would consider returning for another dinner but only in the summertime. Wear your winter coats!
by OpenTable Diner on February 01, 2018
I always enjoy Braddocks. Whenever I come to town (alone or with friends) I come here. The location is great, as are the menu and service.
by OpenTable Diner on January 28, 2018
All I can say is that I can't wait to go back again! Everything was excellent : food, drinks and service!!
by OpenTable Diner on January 28, 2018
We had the Sunday breakfast buffet. The options were fairly standard but the quality was much higher than most other breakfast buffets I have had. The bacon was perfectly crisp. The french toast was still hot and moist. They even had non-traditional items: pierogies, cheese blintzes, and cooked-to-order eggs. Our waiter, Jim, was great! He was attentive, knowledgeable, and charming.
by OpenTable Diner on January 27, 2018
Can't get enough of this place! Hidden gem in the rennaisance hotel that strives for excellence! Great food and service! 5 Star, also Jim is great for sunday brunch! Autumn is great in the evenings!
by Jenga2 on January 27, 2018
The food here is consistently top-notch, and the service is excellent, all of which makes for a really nice relaxing evening out.
by OpenTable Diner on January 26, 2018
Fantastic food and service! Autumn is amazing. Great upscale dining
by PLR15 on January 25, 2018
Braddock’s continues to impress me. The service is outstanding. Everyone is courteous and eager to please, especially the waitstaff. The food is always well prepared. We love this restaurant prior to attending events in the cultural district.
by out4greatfood on January 24, 2018
We will not be returning. Service was excellent and they tried to make up for the meal in discounting tab. The filet was tasteless and over done when we asked for "pink center." The mussels were under-cooked, the one I could open. More than half on the bottom were not open or could not be pried open.
by OpenTable Diner on January 22, 2018
Interesting menu and attentive staff. Food excellent. Convenient valet parking.
by OpenTable Diner on January 20, 2018
Nice place and excellent waitress Autumn. The food was not worth the price. I've had the same food types - duck, seafood, etc., for a similar price range that was off the charts fantastic. This food was nothing special, and I was not impressed. Actually some came out not warm. Probably will not go back.

Good and service was excellent!
by OpenTable Diner on January 03, 2018
We had a fabulous meal of short ribs and seafood pasta tonight before going to the theatre. Loved the food and the service. Staff was fantastic, especially our waitress Michelle. Even the chef came out to chat. Kudos to dessert as well, which we scarfed down the decadently delicious bread pudding with ice cream, walnuts, bananas and whiskey sauce. Portions are large. Fab. Very attractive decor. Even the valet, David D was very friendly and helpful. Top night!
by NYEdinner on December 31, 2017
The hotel and restaurant are in a historic building, which is gorgeous. It’s right across the river from PNC Park, which is a very convenient location. The waitress was very kind and ensured that all of our needs were met. The food was good across the board, not amazing, but definitely good. The price was fair considering the ambience and the location. I would go back, but with all of the great restaurants in Pittsburgh, I don’t think that I’ll rush back anytime soon.
by OpenTable Diner on December 31, 2017
Great ethnic food selections- especially the perogi and kielbasa appetizers. Excellent main menu selection and well stocked bar. Very attentive waitress. Great relaxing evening.
by NutSack on December 31, 2017
everything was nice, but all employees (Hosts, Waiters/Waitresses, Bussers) dress code was a bit off for me. Not that it's a huge deal, but was there for New Years (a big night for business) and it seems to be a fancier restaurant. The bussers were in black button up shirts (appropriate), hosts has jeans with button up flannel type shirts tucked in (decently appropriate), but the waiters and waitresses threw me off. Ours was wearing a Pink Troy polamalu jersey, while others had ugly steeler sweaters (Should mention how the steelers players earlier that day). Need some consistency there. Also, the menu should be a bit more proper. The menu was a flimsy piece of paper. Overall though, it was good.
by OpenTable Diner on December 31, 2017
Stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for the New Year's Weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks in part to the wonderful atmosphere created and the food served at Braddock's Brassiere. We had reservations (I definitely recommend you do reserve a table), and were seated promptly upon arrival. Drinks were ordered and served while we studied the varied menu. Our waitress was exceptional, especially so considering the New Year's eve crowd, as were our dinner selections. We never felt rushed and, all in all, A home run!

Very nice NYE dinner. Food was Great! With Great staff. Pleasure dinning with them
by OpenTable Diner on December 31, 2017
We came for Sunday Brunch. The weather was frigid and the restaurant was much too cold also. Although our table waiter and the omelette/waffle station chef were excellent, there were some issues. It was difficult to find plates, the french toast came as we were finished, and we helped ourselves to a second cup of coffee. The $$ we spent on this Sunday brunch wasn't equal to other brunch spots that had more choices and cost only a bit more. We won't be coming back due to the minimal choices and cost of the food. We used to come often for brunches, the price was less ($15) and the food was excellent even though choices were few. Thing have changed here! Sorry.

Every year, my husband and I try to find a really good meal to enjoy with his nephew in Pittsburgh on Christmas Day. Next year, that search will be a lot easier - we'll just go back to Braddock's! We had an amazing dinner at Braddock's on Christmas Day, 2017. The food was outstanding, particularly the Berkshire Pork Duo. Wow, the pork belly was to die for! We also enjoyed the scallops with corn risotto, and the duck with veggie risotto and blackberry sauce, all selected with help from our waiter Gabriel. But the real highlight of the evening was the cocktails, and the personal tour of the whiskey list provided by manager Tony Gualtieri. We'd run into some confusion over one of our bourbon selections, and he stopped by our table to offer a couple special tastes, and guide us toward the truly lovely Wild Turkey Decades. We had such a great dinner - and we're looking forward to returning to Braddock's in 2018!
by OpenTable Diner on December 25, 2017
Justin was great and made wonderful recommendations. We were so pleased with the Christmas menu! Some dishes were not as hot as we would have liked, but everyone still enjoyed!
by Sunny on December 24, 2017
The service is consistently good and the atmosphere very pleasant. The food is always good. Some dishes definitely better than others, but nothing I've had there has ever been bad. My only complaint this time was for some odd reason the restaurant smelled fishy. So it put us off ordering anything with fish/seafood. It's never been like that before. I also thought the cheese plate was mediocre for the price. But the entrees were very good.

Always wonderful
by OpenTable Diner on December 23, 2017
Several food items were not well seasoned. Fried Mac n cini was bland. Steak and frites steak was perfectly cooked but lacked flavor. Tomato soup was excellent and mussels were good. Pork two ways was inconsistently seasoned. Pricey for the quality. Service started slow but was soon very good.
by OpenTable Diner on December 23, 2017
Great place for an anniversary or a larger group after a theater show or musical. We valet our car at the hotel and then eat at Braddocks and they validate our parking. Nice surprise.

Great food and great service!!!
by Susannah61 on December 16, 2017
Seven of us had breakfast, and the menu and staff easily accommodated the cares of vegetarians and meat-eaters. Service was quick and relatively attentive, the restaurant and hotel lobby are attractive, and the food was good. We will be back.
by OpenTable Diner on December 10, 2017
We were taking in a show at Heinz Hall. This was one of the few restaurants close to there that accepts reservations, which I wanted since it could be crowded after a performance. I have food allergies and the waitress spoke to the chef about accommodations. The waitress was very friendly and was happy to help. The food was delicious, and different than most places are able to offer with dairy restrictions! All in our party loved their meal and the great service. There was a Steeler game, so there was some noise from the lobby (we were seated close to the door). With the lobby doors open, it was a bit drafty. Two of us kept our coats on. I'm sure it was due to the home game. I will return again when we are in the theater district!
by OpenTable Diner on December 10, 2017
Food was great. The waiter was great. The atmosphere was horrible. It is in a hotel and apparently the breakfast is given to patrons at no cost. People were in slippers and in large groups that were loud and moving around. They placed us in the middle of the restaurant next to the "get it yourself" coffee, and the entire morning I had someone's backside in my face.
by OpenTable Diner on December 09, 2017
The food was good but the service was poor. It took 20 minutes before our drink orders wee taken. Service improved a little as the meal went on. Seemed like they were short staffed
by OpenTable Diner on December 09, 2017
Our waiter, Justin, was wonderful. We had limited time and let him know up front. He got us fed with time to spare. Also, he was just super nice and efficient. The food was great, too!
by OpenTable Diner on December 09, 2017
There have been some reviews that made us hesitant to try this place out, but we overcame those hesitations and wanted to get away from our normal listing of places to eat. For the most part, people dressed a little more upscale than I was expecting. Even in a casual dress and heels I felt a tad bit underdressed for a place that claims casual attire is okay. Our table had a few if the appetizers, including the beef tartar, pierogies, kielbasa board, and frites. Everything was delicious. Well done, perfectly cooked. Because we are the appetizer menu, we split the gnocchi and lobster. The lobster was perfect in every way. The gnocchi was slightly charred from the pan fry but still amazingly well done. My only complaint is the drink menu was not extensive (they are going for a bourbon whiskey theme...and not a favorite for my tastebuds...i wanted some different offerings and for the crowd that was in the restaurant. I was hoping a larger wine or spirits menu...they do have a full bar though). Also, the noise from the libby can be obscene. They either should shut the dining area doors or something. The service was good. Our waitress was busy and spread thin but she still took care of us. All in is worth a shot. It is a good restaurant, and I look forward to another visit in the near future.

We had a lovely time and a great meal at the Braddock Brasserie before going next door to the Byham Theater. The food was fabulous, but the kitchen was slow in getting our meals out, and we ended up having to rush to make the 8:00 curtain. Our server was wonderful but the kitchen let her down. One other thing: I tried hard to get the attention of the Valet parking guys, to no avail. I ended up having to park far away and walk in. I was not happy about that because I had chosen the restaurant specifically to use the valet parking for an elderly relative who does not walk well.
by OpenTable Diner on December 08, 2017
Dinner was good. However we arrived about 15 minutes late.... the restaurant was just about empty and we were marked as a no- show on open table! Would like to see that changed on our record.
by OpenTable Diner on December 08, 2017
The potato gnocchi and lobster was excellent. I ordered the small portion and still had to have the leftovers wrapped. Our family ordered the cheese plate- unique and tasty. Vegetarian daughter had the seasonal squash- which she enjoyed ( not very many veg options, though). Definitely plan at least an hour if you are going to the theater - service was attentive, friendly, informative, but the food came a little slowly.
by MetroTommym on December 05, 2017
I think this place was overrated as a four star place. Food was pretty good not great and overpriced. Although our group did like the Cajun flatiron w sweet mashed taters! I'd go again if someone else paid for it
